This Landmark 1917 residence was built in downtown Gladewater by A. F. "Doc" (1883-1957) and Berthal Phillips (1886- 1973) Shepperd, descendants of prominent early settlers. He was respected merchant, public official, civic worker and she a church leader, club woman, noted volunteer.

This fully restored clapboard residence was moved in 1983 to Pineway Farms. It features its original hardwood floors, beveled double-mirrored door, chandelier, brass hardware and 37 wooden sash, weigh-pulley windows. It has a large front room, a smaller back room with a fireplace, working kitchen, enclosed back porch and white picket fence.

The residence hosted social, cultural activities and took-in boarders when converted to room house during oil boom. For a while it was the Pink House Restaurant run by Fredalene Clark. Soon the Shepard home will be available for meetings, luncheons, receptions, showers, and any other event you may have planned.
